Decisions
It all begins with an idea, thought or plan. Maybe you’re in your 30s, 40s or 50s discovering you don’t like the career you’re in or path you’re on. Maybe you’re a 17 yr old about to finish high school and aren’t sure which career or industry you’d like to spend the next thirty years in. Whatever you decide, it needs to be something you enjoy. Choosing a path that aligns with your interests and values is crucial.
The most rewarding careers are those that don’t feel like work. They're the ones where you show up, enjoy what you do, collaborate with people you respect, and earn a wage that reflects your contribution. For some, that path leads to launching a business and forging their own future from the ground up.
The traditional model of finishing high school, attending a four-year university, and securing a stable job is no longer the only route to success. In today's world, people are building wealth and careers through unconventional avenues—social media, entrepreneurship, athletics, and more. Success today is less about following a prescribed formula and more about making intentional choices and taking decisive action. Whether it’s right or wrong, those who learn from their mistakes along the way and find success through failure, growth and consistency will by far and without question, be the ones who are built to survive and thrive. Failing early and often is the key to success!
Most people shy away from failure and see it as a negative byproduct of a bad decision but failure often leads you down a path providing clarity about what you want (or don’t want) and what you’re capable of doing. Failure, often misunderstood, is not the enemy. In fact, failing early and often is one of the most powerful tools for growth. Each setback offers clarity—about who you are, what you want, and what you’re capable of achieving. Those who embrace failure as part of the learning process, and who remain committed, consistent, and resilient, are the ones most likely to succeed in the long run.
Whatever the decision or choice is, be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. It will either lead you to failure and provide invaluable lessons, knowledge and experience providing clarity or you’ll be successful and gain knowledge, experience and confidence that way. Either way, it’ll provide you with a path and a better way to make future decisions. It always does.
